This morning we went to visit the Wat, as it is a special holy day. About 100 people from the village went to make merit. We brought sticky rice to put into the monks' bowls and flowers to place in the larger vases.
Dr. Tony also took the opportunity to introduce us and we taught a little English-- "How are you?" "What is your name?" Dr. Tony took the lead and we were easily able to follow-- he is an excellent teacher :)
At the end of the prayer portion, there was a prayer that required us to pour water into a glass. Then, after the prayer was over, we watered a tree and sent a blessing to my dad (so he wont miss us too much and that he has good pictures to take).
Then, the monks ate food from the offerings and gave us a bag to take home! It was very kind!
