Chiang Mai Treehouse Resort (Rabeang Pasak)

We enjoyed our time in Chiang Mai at the Galare Guest Hiuse that we were nervous about leaving for the treehiuse, hoping it would be as nice as we dreamed.

We were picked up at Galare by the driver 10 mins early- which was a good sign.  Then, we drove about 90 mins from Chiang Mai City, into the mountains.

When we got here, it was like all my childhood and adulthood Swiss Family Robbinson dreams were finally coming true.  With the addition of many, many kittens, who roam the place looking for love and food.

We are staying in a cabin called Baan Rabeang.

It has a small front porch and large back one, facing a creek- which you can pleasantly hear all night!  There is a first floor sitting area with a small sofa and desk.  There is also an outdoor, open-air shower ( so cool).  Up the spiral staircase, there is a large bed.

It is awesome!!!

Some of the other houses are way taller-- but also smaller.  This is perfect for us!

Tree House Cats and Kittens

IIt There are cats and kittens everywhere at the treehouse resort... I mean, it's kinda like cat paradise :) there are warm nooks and crannies everywhere for sunbathing kitties.

There are families staying here with small kids (a kids dream), and it's fun to watch them cuddle the cats!

Cool Bugs

Exploring the treehouses

It Since it is the low season, many of the treehouses are empty. Therefore, Mink (the owner and architect) let us wander up into each of the empty ones!

Bat Poop

We took a big ride from the Treehouse Resort about 5k round trip... My bike had no breaks, so the hills were interesting.

Our destination? A place called the Bat Cave.

Let me tell you, bat poo?  It stinks something special.  It is strong, pungent, natural odor... It's a special smell, to tell the truth.  Special.

I saw one bat-- it flew out and then back in... Nothing super scary but the smell.

Dogs

There are also a few dogs here!  So cute!

Okay, now back...

Chiang Mai Walking Street

There is a market every weekend in Chiang Mai that, in my opinion, beats out any market anywhere. There is a great combination of items, but most are fairly inexpensive.

I bought a few pairs of wood earrings, some hair bows, some small cloth bags, and some other nick-nacks.

It was really busy and many artist don't allow photography... However here are some food pictures :)
