Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a shadow, causing me to turn my focus to the wall near the door. There stood Rickey, Mickey Mouse's rat cousin, looking at me. He ran over to the space between our screen and outside doors.
Bam was outside on the porch, so I called for her to open our outside door- letting her know the rat was right there, waiting..:
When she opened the door, we discovered that the rat escaped out the broken corner before she opened it... Into the center room.
We double-checked our room, just in case, and then fortified the door with and empty ibuprofen box. Mom was going to originally use and empty Pocky box, but I though the chocolate smell might act as an invitation.
Bam was uncomfortable with a rat in the house, too, so we investigated with fashlights. When we warned the teacher staying in another room, she said we shouldn't worry about it because there are always rats in this house; very common. Bam said "no rats in houses in Bangkok, Dana" and frowned sadly.
She also cancelled the exercise-slumber party scheduled for our room tonight. I think she hates Rickey the Rat.
Through this experience I discovered that my mom is way more prepared to take care of any spider situations, while my speciality might need to be any future organized rat attacks.
