Thanks a lot, United Airlines

Well, here we are in London... Trying to get comfortable on a cold, hard airport floor.  Figure we should claim a spot, since we will be here for the next nine hours.

Our flight left Chicago late, due to the light sprinkles that tend to impact Ohare flight patterns.  We arrived in Dublin late, but ran like cheetahs to catch our flight to London.  Perfect!  On track!

Well, we would have been.

Anticipating our late arrival from Chicago, United Airlines thought it would be a good idea to put us on a later flight... So that, when we arrived on time to catch our scheduled flight, we no longer had tickets and they no longer had seats.

I do not say this lightly: booooooo!!!!

First they thought we might be able to take an earlier Air Singapore flight, but there was only one seat.  Then, they suggested a flight with a layover in Qatar, which they were "pretty sure" would be okay with US passports and no prebooking.  So, here we are... Sitting.  Instead of arriving in Bangkok at 6am we will arrive at 3pm.

My mom saw her massage plans evaporate and became quite frustrated.  We've also been awake for 24 hours already.

They tried to appease us with meal vouchers, but my mom couldn't be bought off so easily.  She tried to make her frustration known and attempted to tell them off.  She was annoyed later then the woman mentioned how pleasant we had been about their error... She needs to up her anger game next time.
